New national child restraint laws came into effect on 1st March.
Children from 4 to 7 years must be restrained in an approved forward facing child restraint or booster seat.
They can only sit in the front row of a vehicle when all other seats are occupied by children under 7 years
Children under 4 must not be in the front row of a vehicle that has 2 or more rows.
