About our school

Hill End Public School serves the historic village of Hill End. Our school was established in 1870.

The community is very proud and supportive of our school. Our school's vision is to enable each child to reach his or her potential. It aims to provide individual enrichment for students and comprehensive educational experiences which enhance the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of all students.

Regular reporting ensures that parents and students have a clear understanding of student progress and achievements.

Special events that our school hosts are the 'Hill End Visual Art's Camp' the 'Small Talk' Debating Competition and the 'STEM Challenge Cup' each year. These events bring students from near and far to participate.

We are a very well resourced school with the advantage of offering our students easy access to computer equipment everyday. Our integrated immersive STEM Program provides students with the motivation to retrieve and apply new knowledge. We utilise our video-conferencing system to meet with other students at small schools to share lessons and ideas. We also offer many cultural experiences with excursions & visitors. We offer students the opportunity to participate in gardening and cooking lessons as part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. Sporting activities include PE every week and participation in the Mudgee Small School's Swimming Carnival and Athletics carnivals each year. We have an extensive sports store and are part of the sporting school's program and the Premier's Sporting Challenge. We also provide a learn to swim program in our school pool with a qualified AUSTSWIM teacher on staff.
