Hi my name is Beth and I am going to tell you about my favourite animal. My favourite animal is an Orca. An Orca is a type of whale that lives in Antarctica. Orcas are black with white patches. They have huge black tails that help the Orca swim and move around.
Orcas eat fish, whales, seals, penguins and if in a pod they could eat a blue whale. Orcas are the size of a bus. Their babies are called calves.
Orcas only have one nostril. Sometimes Orcas splash onto the shore and try to grab seals or penguins that are nearby then they dive down with their prey.
Orcas have a tall dorsal fin on their back. Some Orcas have short fins and some have a tall fin.
Even when Orcas are asleep they go to the surface to breathe. Orcas swim in a group called a pod. Orcas have a kind of skin that helps keep them warm. Orcas are amazing and one day I hope that I can see one.
